The process of customizing a TPE doll is relatively simple, and the cost is lower compared to customizing a silicone doll. In this article, not only do we describe the customization process, but we also want to share the stories behind the scenes.
1. Story
Every custom doll starts with an idea, and this one started with a customer from Malaysia.
He contacted us because he wanted to create a custom TPE body. During our conversation, he also showed us some of the dolls he had collected. Interestingly, several of them came from Dolls Castle, including our 170CM E TPE doll. (We have this doll in stock at our warehouses in EU and the US.)The 170CM E Cup had always been one of his favorites. He told us that he thought the 170CM E Cup was almost perfect.
But he had one more idea.He wondered if we could make a similar body taller than 170CM. That way, he could have two dolls with different heights and choose between them depending on what he wanted.That idea eventually brought him to us for his own custom TPE doll project.
2. Design
We couldn’t find the original design files for the 170CM E body, so we decided to scan an existing 170CM E doll and use the scan as the starting point for the new design. After scanning the body (3D Scanning) and removing the head, we measured a net body height of 151CM. We also marked the measurements of different parts of the body so we could make the modifications accurately.
The customer had several specific requests: make the thighs longer and broaden the shoulders; add more muscle definition around the abdomen, thighs, and knees.
We created a visual design based on his requirements so he could see what the modified body would look like before we moved on to production. After several discussions, we created the final design that satisfied the customer.
We later made one more small change to the design—the lower back area. The left one is customer sent us a reference image to show exactly what he wanted. The right one is we’re adjusted the design based on his reference and created the final result.
A Special Visit to Our Factory
While we worked on the design, something unexpected happened.
The customer happened to visit China during his vacation, so he decided to come to our factory and meet us in person.This gave us a great opportunity to sit down together and discuss his custom project face-to-face. We talked about the design, the details he wanted, and what we could do during the production process. But we didn’t only talk about his doll.During our conversation, he also shared some interesting thoughts about the doll industry.
He mentioned that many video game and movie characters have become extremely popular overseas. Characters from franchises such as Resident Evil and Star Wars, for example, have attracted large fan communities around the world. He suggested that turning popular fictional characters into realistic adult dolls could attract a lot of interest from fans. We also learned a lot from this conversation. Hearing directly from customers helps us understand what different groups of collectors and doll enthusiasts are looking for.
We always take customer feedback seriously, and we will continue to explore new ideas based on these conversations. 3. Molding
Once the customer approved the 3D design, we moved on to the next stage: 3D printing
If you look closely at the unfinished printed body, you may notice that some areas around the nipples and intimate areas look like someone cut them apart. Don’t worry—this is an intentional part of the production process. We designed these sections to make it easier for us to assemble the nipples, areolas, and other detailed areas during production. We also create some of the finer details by hand using sculpting clay. This allows us to refine the shape and texture more naturally instead of relying entirely on the 3D-printed surface.
The customer also provided us with reference images for the nipple, areola, vaginal, and anal details.
We then used those references to create the final details.
After completing the main body, we added realistic skin textures around the elbows, knees, and belly button. These small details may not seem significant at first, but they help the finished body look more natural and realistic.
Once we finished the model, we moved on to the next major step: Making the mold.

- How long does it take to customize a regular TPE doll?
A regular custom TPE doll usually takes around 30–45 days to complete. The exact production time can vary depending on the complexity of the customization and the specific requirements of the project.
How to customize a silicone doll?
The basic customization process for a silicone doll follows a similar path to a TPE doll. However, silicone dolls require an additional inner mold/core during production, so the overall process takes longer.
